Chelsea Young - Senior Product Designer: My name's Chelsea Young. I'm a senior industrial designer here at Spectrum. As technology becomes more and more integrated into people's homes and people's lives, we want to be at the forefront of that development and be able to facilitate how we live and interact with our world today.
Andrew Ip - Senior Vice President, Emerging Technology and Innovation: One of the most fun parts of my job is envisioning how our network can enable and deliver the future living room or what some entrepreneur is cooking up in their garage somewhere.
Brendan Herbeck - Construction Coordinator: As we build into these neighborhoods, the homeowners, the neighbors, they come out, they approach us, and they treat us like rock stars. They really do. They're so excited to see us expanding our network.
Mychal Browning - Assistant Manager, Retail Store: We are a high-tech company. We are trying to change the way customers interact with their entertainment, right? Our technology is always on the cutting edge. We're bringing some of the best services that you can think of that are out there in our wireless world, coming straight into your home.
Bob Schroeder - Vice President, Data Product Management: We've done some unique things at Spectrum that's very exciting. In fact, I think the competition is actually looking at us and maybe even might even be chasing us.
Rhona Fields - Supervisor, Sales Retention: For me, the best thing about working at Spectrum is the way that they care for their employees. The culture here at Spectrum is a friendly culture. It's fast-paced, so if you look at for a fast-paced work environment, this is definitely the place to be.
Chelsea Young: When you join the Spectrum experience, you know that it's been in the hands of a team that is really cohesive, that has an experience that is uniquely ours.
Mychal Browning: People come in here with needs every single day. And the fact that we get to offer them something that meets that need, for me, that's absolutely the best part is fulfilling somebody else's need.

We're making it possible for more people to connect to what matters most. Expanding our network to more homes and businesses, including rural areas across the country.
Chip Bulson, Spectrum Customer: Dear Mr. Rutledge, my neighbors and I are in need of broadband services from Charter. After striking out with Verizon and satellite providers, I decided I'm just gonna write some letters. I wrote three letters, mailed them off the old fashioned way with a stamp. All other areas of our town are covered except for this one, where we live, disconnected the office called and said, "Hey, your letters made it. We have your plan. We have your build-out, be patient it's coming." We're going to build out. Well this pole here is one of the poles in this network that goes out to my home, as well as three of my neighbors. Charter ran cable here and we're thankful to have it. One day I was coming home from the store, and I saw the reels of cable and that was a good day. That was a really good day.
Michael Campbell, Fiber Technician II: I'm a fire splicer. And for the Hudson Valley, we're doing helping out with the New York state build-out. Myself and my colleague, Eric, we actually do all the fiber optic work and we'll splice the fiber and then verify levels. Making sure everything will be activated to help everybody build out.
Donald Sherwood, Construction Coordinator III: Big focus is getting internet service, phone, TV into rural areas that otherwise probably never would have seen it.
Michael: This helps out a lot of people especially with the COVID and everything going on. It makes it nicer to know that people are getting the internet to do the things they need to do from home. You know work, school.
Donald: There's a lot of work involved. The permitting process can take anywhere from 12 to 18 months. The whole process is very involved.
John Kader, Construction Manager: Here's a typical New York state DOT work permit. It shows the area that we request to do our work in. These project maps on the walls give us a guidance of progress and what's happening. This map here represents area that we're extending plant into. So all the red here, you see, this is all the work that has to take place to activate here.
Brendan Herbeck, Construction Coordinator III: We're currently building, expanding our network to one of our rural communities, The city of Justin, Texas. Our expansion has benefited homeowners as well as the businesses by providing them better, reliable internet connection that they've been lacking.
Scott Strother, Fiber Technician II: There's going to be more demand for higher speeds. Our customers are wanting more and more and we have the bandwidth here to provide that.
Kandice Jarvis, Owner - That's so Fetch: I have been waiting for Charter to come into our town for years. The moment I found out through the Chamber of Commerce, that they were laying the lines, I was absolutely thrilled because in Springtown, we've only ever had your basic slow internet. It was just never up to par for what we needed it for. We rely on the internet for everything: printing our shipping labels, buying our postage. We do everything over the internet in our online sales. I think it's absolutely amazing that Charter is investing in rural America. It is only going to help everyone in those communities.
Brendan: As we would go through these neighborhoods just starting this project, homeowners would come out telling me how happy they were. We felt like rock stars in a way, we really did.
Donald: It's definitely a good feeling, getting people service and people are glad to see you in town. So it's, it's always a good feeling.
Chip: I'm grateful, you know, to live here, in a great place and modern amenities. It's, it's great.

TheMuse presents... Growing your career at Spectrum
Marjorie Truitt - Sr Director, Product & Technology Digital Platforms: I think most people think of Spectrum as just a cable company, and cable companies aren't known for being necessarily on the cutting edge of technology. But our data science team is actually using pretty high-tech machine learning techniques to predict customer behaviors so that we can improve customer experience.
Najeed Abdul - Software Engineer, Net Ops: In my role as a director of software development, I'm responsible for multiple software engineering and delivery teams, especially on the video line of business. We are encouraged and we have multiple initiatives that are constantly going on to innovate so that we can provide new services to our customers.
Salina Khatha - Sr UI Designer, Product & Technology Digital Platforms: I'm a senior product designer at Spectrum through the agency. My role specifically is in news, sports, and communications. We help deliver products that are either external-facing or internal-facing. My current app is a Spectrum News app, so that is a mobile application for iOS and Android, and the goal of that is to deliver news to our Spectrum customers.
Najeed Abdul: I started at Spectrum as a solutions architect. The team was great, and that's where I learned a lot about technology. And then I was offered a position of director of software development. I strongly believe in the opportunities that Spectrum gives me. I think growth comes organically as long as you do good work.
Marjorie Truitt: I started as a senior manager leading a small team, and as our data analytics firm grew, I did get a couple of nice promotions pretty quickly. I feel like Spectrum was very supportive of my growth. I've been to leadership training, which has been really helpful with going from leading a small team to now leading an almost 40-person organization.
Najeed Abdul: The reason Spectrum attracted me was because of the people and the technology. The technology is cutting-edge, and the people that I work with are very smart and I get to learn from them.
Marjorie Truitt: Our team is collaborative and welcoming. We all want to help each other succeed instead of competing with each other, and I think because of that, it makes people want to stay.
Najeed Abdul: We like to have fun. Sometimes we go play ping pong downstairs or go get a coffee or we just hang around and chat. I believe in work hard, play hard.
Salina Khatha: My team specifically is small and mighty. We're actually all female except for one, so that feels empowering in the sense that we are agile, we're collaborative, we're super fun.
Marjorie Truitt: On my team, we have a fairly good training program where we are able to hire candidates straight out of college and provide them with the tools that they need to succeed. And for someone who's maybe earlier in their career, it's a really great place to launch your career and learn very quickly.
Salina Khatha: I think the benefits of working at Spectrum specifically and at a larger scale is your work is definitely touched by many, so that should be exciting if you're a designer, especially in product. We have the opportunity to use our technology to impact the world.
