Notice to Potential Candidates

Spectrum uses automated employment decision tools in the hiring process for some positions in NYC. These employment decision tools are developed by an outside vendor using job-relevant criteria that are predictive of job performance and tenure with our company, which assist in the selection of job candidates.

A summary of the data collected from the employment decision tools for impacted jobs in NYC is included below.

  • Store Specialist – this is a Virtual Job Tryout in which candidates respond to closed-ended questions. This assessment is measuring job-relevant skills, including Customer Focus, Sales Drive, Build Relationships, Drives for Results, Technical Learning, Integrity/Reliability, and Career Stability. This assessment has been in use since 6/8/2020.
  • Rep 1, Customer Service Video Repair - this is a Virtual Job Tryout in which candidates respond to closed-ended questions. This assessment is measuring job-related skills, including Customer Service, Productivity, Quality, Attendance/Reliability, and Career Stability. This assessment has been in use since 5/15/2019.
  • Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist – this is an assessment in which candidates respond to multiple-choice questions. This assessment is measuring Sales Drive and Career Stability. This assessment has been in use since 11/20/2020.

These data are retained for a period of three (3) years. Candidates who live in NYC or who are applying for a job in in NYC have the right to request an alternative selection process. To make a request, please fill out the form here.

Bias Audit Requirement

These tools are subject to an impartial bias audit from an independent auditor, which includes testing of these tools to assess disparate impact on protected classes. The most recent bias audit was conducted in 2022, and a summary of these results can be found below.
