Top 3 Reasons Students Are Most Excited About Their Summer Internship
We’re just a few weeks into our Summer Internship Program! Over 200 students are currently working in Spectrum offices in Austin, TX, Charlotte, NC, St. Louis, MO, and Stamford, CT, learning the ins and outs of our business, contributing to meaningful projects and networking with colleagues, peers and mentors.
As our interns begin their new experience, they share what they’re hoping to learn – and the projects they’re most excited to work on – during their 10 weeks as members of our team.
Gaining Corporate and Industry Experience
For many students, the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into corporate life and experience in the industry is a major highlight. Jen, a Technology Operations intern in Denver, values the chance to work with a variety of teams with different backgrounds and to see the real-world impacts of her projects.
Similarly, Ella, a Product & Technology intern, values the exposure to executive insights and hands-on projects. With enthusiasm, she shares, "Being able to sit in on meetings, work on meaningful projects, and get valuable insights from Executives around the company has already been a great experience. I can’t wait to continue to learn more."
Jasmine, a Project Management intern for Field Operations is excited about learning the business – and taking advantage of some of the onsite amenities in our Stamford headquarters, “I’m most excited about networking, learning more about the cable industry, and utilizing the site’s gym!”
Using the latest tools and technologies in their day-to-day work gives our interns real-time learnings they can take with them throughout their careers. In Denver, Alexios is looking forward to expanding his skills and using new management methodologies. “I am excited to learn more about Spectrum’s Agile processes. Development timelines in big companies are complicated, and I am eager to learn how different teams work to deliver solutions.”
Customer Operations intern, Sanjana in Stamford, shares her desire to dig deeper into how her work can add long-term value for her team. Through her work this summer, she hopes to leave a well-documented process for data scientists to work on in the future.
Working on Our Intern Team Projects
Aribah, a Technology Operations intern from Austin, looks forward to working with her peers on their Showcase project – where interns work on teams to solve a business challenge. “It’s fun to talk to others my age that are career-focused and ready to make an impact on the cable world.”
Applying What We’ve Learned in School to Real-World Projects
Working in St. Louis as a Spectrum Business intern, Paige is ready to see how her academic efforts pay off in a corporate setting. “I’m looking forward to seeing how my hard work and late-night study sessions translate into real-world skills and contributions.”
Mark Mintzlaff, a Product & Technology intern also in St. Louis, shares this enthusiasm. He looks forward to applying his school learning to real-world software projects and gaining a deeper understanding of how a large tech team operates.
Customer Operations intern, Emmorie adds, “I’ll get to really put my skills to the test and learn how to balance multiple responsibilities in a corporate environment.”
As our interns continue their summer journeys at Spectrum, we're excited to see the innovative contributions they will make. Are you interested in joining our team? Explore our opportunities for students, recent graduates and experienced professionals here: jobs.spectrum.com.
