What is a job scam?

A job scam involves deceptive schemes that present fabricated job prospects to individuals seeking employment.

We've noticed instances where individuals are pretending to be Spectrum recruiters online. These impostors have been promoting fake job openings to applicants and requesting confidential personal and financial data.

This kind of scam typically operates through methods like fraudulent websites or deceptive emails pretending to be from the company. These scammers frequently urge recipients to share personal information and make payments as part of their fictitious hiring procedure.

Please be aware that Spectrum never asks candidates to make any financial commitments as a prerequisite for employment.

Recognizing job scams:

1. Every Spectrum job opening will be listed on our official career site: https://jobs.spectrum.com/
2. Spectrum will never request your personal, financial, or banking details, nor insist on any financial obligation during our candidate search or application phases.
3. Obtaining equipment or supplies won't be required during your onboarding process.
4. Formal interviews are mandatory for all job offers at Spectrum.
5. If you get an email from an address that doesn't have the @charter.com domain or isn't charter+autoreply@talent.icims.com, SpectrumAssessments@assessment.modernhire.com or noreply@mail.modernhire.com consider it potentially fraudulent.

If you believe you have been contacted about a fraudulent job offer, please follow the directions:

1. Contact LinkedIn Support if you received a scam message on LinkedIn.
2. File a complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
3. Report a claim to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
