BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As a Senior FinOps Engineer on this team, you’ll be responsible for cost and operational effectiveness in AWS infrastructures by engaging with video development teams to help transform the way they utilize AWS services, manage, and optimize spending. This role will be in direct contact with cross-functional teams to implement cloud cost management strategies and best practices for adoption and cost savings techniques. This will include generating and providing recommendations on how teams can optimize their usage of AWS services, provide cost-related insights, metrics, and measure KPIs to track progress and closely working with stakeholders to ensure ongoing success.
- As Senior FinOps, you will have the opportunity to engage with cross-functional teams to help implement cloud cost management strategies and best practices for adoption and cost savings.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on FinOps projects, collaborating with stakeholders, and being accountable for the outcome of the project
- Assist stakeholders in identifying cost saving opportunities and provide recommendations for optimization
- Analyze variances between actual spending and budgeted amounts, and provide insights and corrective actions
- Research, development, implement, troubleshoot, and create strategies for cloud cost optimization and provide governance.
- Collaborate with business planning team to ensure accurate financial forecast and continuously explore new tools and technologies that can enhance FinOps capabilities
- Develop relevant automation, documentation, processes, and standardization of FinOps process and establish cost conscious culture within development teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 5+ years of dynamic scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Groovy
- 5+ years of Linux or other Unix systems
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or technical field or related work experience
- Skills:
- Must possess demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of the Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Demonstrated leader that can facilitate and build team consensus and interact with both the leadership and the implementation teams
- Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to write clear technical documentation for use by developers and testers
- Ability to work under limited direction and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications:
- FinOps certification
- AWS Cloud Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solution Architect Associate
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a FinOps, cloud financial management, or similar role.
- Experience implementing cloud cost optimizations initiatives and cloud FinOps best practices
- Expert understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure, AWS Cost Explorer, best practices, governance, monitoring, alerting, automation, and FinOps framework
- Experience working with large-scale cloud systems, cloud architecture patterns, AWS saving plans and their cost implications
- Experience working with Parking tool to park AWS instances when not in use to eliminate waste and reduce idling time
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting
- Skills:
- Demonstrated leader that can facilitate and build team consensus and interact with both the leadership and implementation teams
- Ability to provide explanation and application of public cloud and cost models, basic FinOps vocabulary, concepts, processes, basic financial and accounting knowledge
- Advanced Excel knowledge and experience - proficiency with sophisticated formulas, pivot tables, automation, and complex reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and metrics
- Excellend organizational and project management skills
- Understanding of cloud economics and pricing models
- Effective communication skills with master of presenting ideas in a clear, concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences
- Abilities:
- Ability to write clear technical FinOps process for use by stakeholders

The base pay for this position generally is between $88,200.00 and $156,600.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
