BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

Are you ready to lead the strategy and execution of Spectrum’s Developer Experience and Customer Onboarding as a Senior Director, Engineering? In this high-impact role, you will guide the team responsible for SDKs, developer tools, dashboards, and portals, creating a seamless self-service experience. You will ensure successful customer onboarding and explore innovative API integrations to accelerate adoption. Partnering with Product, Sales, and Marketing, your leadership will deliver a frictionless and powerful developer journey, from discovery to mission-critical applications.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead mentors and grow high-performing and collaborative software development teams to produce exceptional results that deliver innovative technical solutions
  • Provide engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and partner with other functions to deliver the roadmap on time with quality
  • Evaluate and consult with executive management regarding technical operations, roadmap definition, strategic planning, and new product development and deployment
  • Drive operational excellence by establishing best practices, metrics and key performance indicators, and work with operations to achieve high availability
  • Partner with finance on budget planning and execute based on the approved budget plan
  • Contribute to the service continuity and disaster recovery plans for the services

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 12+ years of engineering experience
  • 9+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Strong technical expertise in modern software development practices, API design, architecture and cloud technologies to guide scalable, reliable and innovative platform development

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Proven ability to design and deliver the end-to-end developer journeys and associated dashboard and tools, from discovery to production, that are intuitive, efficient, and delightful
  • Ability to partner effectively, with Product, Sales and Marketing to align technical strategy with business goals
  • Track record of creating seamless onboarding and operational processes, dashboard and tools for customers and their applications
  • Advanced knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, IP Networks, and Telephony, Analog Transmission Line Theory, Electronic Theory, and Fiber Optic Theory
  • Knowledge of all FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to supervise and motivate others
  • Organizational and strategic agility
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, and make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications

Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Experience

  • Proven track record of leading engineering organizations to deliver and operate large-scale, distributed systems, platforms, or consumer-facing applications
  • Proven success leading large, distributed teams delivering SDKs, APIs, developer tools, or platform onboarding solutions
  • Deep understanding of developer experiences principles and API-first product design
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a large-scale tech organization, with demonstrated ability to navigate complexity and drive alignment across teams
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities

The base pay for this position generally is between $155,600.00 and $275,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
