As a valued member of our team, you will rotate through several departments, gain practical skills, and help shape the future of the TECH program through your insights and contributions.  This role is a partnership w/University of Wisconsin-Madison for students who will be graduating in December, 2025 or May, 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Engineering. 

As a TECH Program Associate in Enterprise Data & Infrastructure Solutions, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of data teams with emphasis on data science, modeling, statistics, data engineering, and data visualization. This individual is responsible for completion of three projects across different domains and will have the opportunity to present work at the end of each rotation. Ideal candidates will have strong track record of unwavering effort, attitude & eagerness to learn.  


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Gain operational experience with systems and processes supporting the software development life cycle, including exposure to machine learning, data visualization, data engineering and metric modeling
  • Rotate through three distinct teams in four-month increments, completing unique projects in each and presenting your work at the end of each rotation
  • Develop understanding of technology requirements in multiple departments by learning each vertical’s responsibilities, methodologies and contributing to daily operations
  • Own assigned responsibilities, provide feedback and collaborate on the development of data products for software and applications
  • Write code that meets production requirements and participate in peer code reviews
  • Analyze project, business system and client requirements to support application and software implementation and enhancements
  • Collaborate with teams such as Data Science, Digital Platforms Insights and Connectivity Insights to solve challenges through rotational projects and contribute to application enhancements
  • Monitor deployed systems and applications, troubleshoot issues and participate in triage exercises to resolve alerts and outages
  • Perform data analyses, prepare solutions and support rotational teams in daily responsibilities
  • Mentor fellow trainees by sharing experience from prior rotations

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum 

Required Qualifications

Education  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or Engineering required, or combination of required work experience and education 
  • Must currently attend University of Wisconsin - Madison
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Experience  

  • Information Technology experience gained through work experience or practicum training 

Skills  

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Basic knowledge and ability to code, test, manipulate data, and develop solutions for applications/software; code in SQL, Python and R.  Basic knowledge of statistical modeling and practices, AI & ML concepts as well as visualization concepts and tools.
  • Basic Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, elements within rotational program, and project management skills and process mindset
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and effective ability to present, communicate, and influence others of varying skills and abilities
  • Basic ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines and projects by using appropriate methodology and tools
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining result
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work across functional and organizational lines with uncompromising ethics
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications  

Skills  

  • Prior internships completed in Information Technology or MIS
