JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the day to day management of the onsite Charter Physical Security Officers. The purpose of this job is to protect people, assets, and information by providing a safe and secure work environment at Charter Communication’s Corporate Campuses and facilities where Physical Security Officers (PSOs) are deployed. Charter Communication’s Supervisors must be diligent in their work to: protect lives and property; maintain order; and safeguard the interests of Charter Communications and our clients. Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy at all times.
The Sup, Physical Security Officer is responsible for the professional operation, administration, and quality assurance of the officers assigned under them. The Supervisor’s daily tasks focus on scheduling, writing procedures, training the team, managing logistics, supervising the execution of the overall security plan, and conducting evaluations. Supervisors must be able to manage multiple priorities, complex situations, and a diverse team of Physical Security Officers, within an evolving corporate environment. Supervisors must be prepared to assume the Manager’s role in their absence.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
The Supervisor will conduct all aspects of the daily security operations on-site including;
Execution of the overall security plan;
Access Control
Interior and Exterior Patrols
Alarm Response
Mail Safe Program
Critical Incident Response
Investigating suspicious behavior, incidents, and security breaches
Reporting to Chain of Command and Internal Partners
Contacting Emergency Services as required
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
Review, manage the response to, and appropriately closeout incident reports
Coordinate and liaise with internal business partners
Must adhere to Charter’s policies when handling sensitive or confidential information
Must adhere to Charter’s Integrity Policy and Code of Conduct
Assist in the preparation of security surveys and post orders.
Ensure quality of service and adherence to policies and procedures by Physical Security Officers
Coordinate effective staffing, scheduling, and payroll management
Account for, and ensure maintenance of issued uniforms and team equipment
Coach, mentor and develop Physical Security Officers
Ensure that required security training is conducted, completed, monitored, measured, and refreshed
Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under their direct supervision.
Conduct and document inspections of officers; including uniforms, knowledge of policy and procedures, and post orders
Serve as a backup to management as-needed, willing to work irregular hours and weekends
Serve as backup to PSO positions when needed to ensure coverage is maintained
Occasional supervision of special events on and off campus
Perform other duties as requested
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately, and employ appropriate measures
Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
Ability to successfully complete all training required for the position
Ability to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
Ability to develop and implement processes
Ability to assess and evaluate complex situations effectively
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Must have access to reliable transportation
Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules
Must adhere to Charter’s policies when handling sensitive or confidential information
Must adhere to Charter’s Integrity Policy and Code of Conduct

Direct experience working with access control systems (preference for RS2), guard tour, video systems or other security-related technology Demonstrated proficiency using office software/computer skills (re: MS Office, PPT, Visio, and Excel)
Required Education Associate's degree or higher in Business Management, Criminal Justice, or related field or equivalent work experience (4+ Years in Corporate Security)
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years Physical and/or Corporate Security related experience - 4+
Preferred Education Security Management Certification a plus Graduate of a law enforcement training academy
Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years Prior law enforcement/military/fire service/hospitality/customer service/Security operations in a corporate setting Supervisory or equivalent leadership experience - 1+
WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat Willing to work irregular hours and weekends, as needed
