Women Leaders Are Defining Their Careers in Field Operations

At Spectrum, we aim to lead the way in fostering diversity and inclusion within our company. We recognize the invaluable contributions of women in traditionally male-dominated roles, and we are committed to providing equal opportunities for growth and advancement. Discover how Spectrum is empowering women to thrive as leaders in the field.

Empowering Women in Field Operations

Spectrum is dedicated to creating a workplace where all individuals, regardless of gender, race or background, can excel. We believe that diversity fuels innovation and drives success. That's why we actively recruit and support women in Field Operations, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed.

Kimberly, a Supervisor of Technical & Safety Training at Spectrum, has tapped into a variety of resources at the company to help grow her career. For instance, Kimberly is a part of Spectrum’s LGBTQ Business Resource Group. She shares, “The LGBTQ resource group has shared many skillful ideas throughout my Spectrum journey. This inclusive environment is one where employees feel valued and empowered to bring their best ideas forward, and that drives employee engagement, retention and productivity.”

Beyond her Business Resource Group, Kimberly has networked with colleagues and leaders to further her career development at Spectrum. She reflects, “The best thing about working at Spectrum is being offered the opportunity to work together and learn from each other regardless of your title. Spectrum offers a diverse work culture with leadership giving support and encouragement to advance in your career.”

We understand the importance of representation, which has resulted in a growing number of women serving as field technicians, supervisors and managers. From installing and maintaining our cutting-edge technology to leading teams in the field, women at Spectrum are making a significant impact every day.

Support and Development Opportunities

We are committed to providing women in field operations with the tools, training and support they need to excel in their careers. Through mentorship programs, leadership development initiatives and ongoing training opportunities, we empower women to reach their full potential and advance within the company.

Natasha, a Field Technician & Safety Trainer, started as a Warehouse Contractor back in 2004. She shared, “I started in the warehouse as a temporary employee. After I was offered a full-time position, I became interested in the field technician roles. I applied, interviewed and was offered the position in 2010. I went through training, classes and peer mentoring for several months. When my training was complete, I was excited to get out into the world and start my new career.”

Within one year, Natasha advanced from a Field Technician I to a Field Technician V. “Spectrum makes advancing in the company very doable. They offer online learning and training, plus there are always job postings for a variety of roles in every department. Best of all, the supervisors and managers are super supportive and helpful if you are looking to pursue or advance your career,” she reflects.

Now Natasha serves as a Field Technician & Safety Trainer at Spectrum. She recalls, “I was ready for a new challenge in 2021 and applied for the Field Technician & Safety Trainer role. I've enjoyed teaching new people the ins and outs of the job. I look forward to working every day because my days are so different, plus I love the team I work with.”
